Getting to Van Vorst Park: Corner of Montgomery Street & Jersey Avenue
Using NYC PATH service: Go to the 33rd Street Path, located at 33rd St.& 6th Ave, with entrances at 32nd St.& 6th Ave. and 34th St. & Broadway. At the turnstiles, take the left most track marked JSQ (Journal Square, Jersey City) to the Grove St stop (second stop in New Jersey). Head up to street level and you'll face Grove St, with a Subway Sandwich shop to your left. Go toward the Subway shop, crossing Columbus Dr and proceed another 3 blocks to Montgomery St. Turn right on to Montgomery ST and proceed another 2 blocks to Barrow St. and Van Vorst Park on your left. Using the PATH from other Jersey City stops or Hoboken, follow directions above.
From NYC Driving: Take the Holland Tunnel, get into the left most lane and proceed 3 blocks after the tunnel exit to Grove St. and make a left. Take Grove St. & numbered streets start descending at 12th St. After the numbered streets you will cross Newark St. Take GROVE ST another 4 blocks to Montgomery St. and make a right. Proceed another 2 blocks and park will be on your left. Proceed one more block to the corner of Jersey Ave. and make a left. Parking is along available along street on any side of the park or in the surrounding neighborhood.
NJ DRIVING - TURNPIKE NORTH: Take the I-78 EAST LOCAL to Turnpike North. Bear Left at the Toll Plaza to take the Newark Bay Extension (14, a, b, c). Continue past toll plaza, to the Grand St. exit. Get into right lane and make a right on to Montgomery st. Take Montgomery St. for 5 blocks and turn RIGHT on to Jersey Ave. Park will be on your RIGHT. Street parking is available around park in on surrounding streets.
NJ DRIVING - RT 3 EAST: Take RT 3 East to the US1/US9 exit marked Jersey City and bear right off of ramp. Take US1/US9 to the TONNELLE AVE exit and make a left, staying straight and not turning into the circle. Merge on to the Pulaski Viaduct (Covered Roadway) traffic, getting into the right lane. After Viaduct ends, road breaks out into a 4-lane highway, switch over to the right most lane. At the first light make a right on to Jersey Ave. Jersey Ave dead ends into the HAMILTON PARK on 9th St (one way make a left). Proceed along 9th St. one block to Grove St. and make a right. Continue along Grove St. as the numbered streets descend and you will then cross Newark St. Proceed another blocks to Montgomery St. and make a right. Take Montgomery St for two blocks and Van Vorst Park is on the left. Proceed one more block to the corner of Jersey Ave. and make a left. Street parking is available around park or on surrounding streets.
