The Comedy of Errors
Hudson Shakespeare
Company
By William Shakespeare
Directed by Jon Ciccarelli
2008 in the schools program
We began off our 2008 season and fifth annual "In the Schools" program and indoor shows tour with one of Shakespeare's earliest comedies. Participating schools were treated to a title that is not normally studied in the English curriculum and we gave middle and high school students a taste of the lighter side of Shakespeare. All pictures taken at the Kenilworth Public Library.

The twin Dromios encounter each other in a publicity still from the show. Left Samantha Cooper as Dromio of Ephesus and Jennifer Megan Wills as Dromio of Syracuse.
A perplexed Antipholus of Syracuse (Jeff Besselman, Center) and Dromio of Syracuse (Jennifer Megan Wills) are mistakenly accosted in the street by an angry Adriana (Jessica Ripple, right) and her sister Luciana (Jodie Pfau, left). Adriana seeking to bring her "husband" Antipholus home to dinner.
A drunk and carousing Antipholus of Ephesus (Devin Landin, right) finally arrives home to dinner with his drinking cohorts Angelo the Goldsmith (Kimberly DiPersia, center) and Balthazar (Nicole Rhatigan).
Antipholus of Syracuse (Jeff Besselman) tries unsucessfully to conjure away a possible sorceress as a frightened Dromio (Jennifer Megan Wills) looks on. Actually, the Courtezan (Melissa Silver) attempts to retrieve a ring that the other Antipholus took from her after one of their "get-togethers".
Dr Pinch (Kimberly DiPersia) along with the help of Adriana, Luciana (Jodie Pfau), and the Courtezan capture a supposedly possessed Antipholus (Devin Landin) and Dromio of Ephesus (Samantha Cooper) after an impromptu exorcism.
In the final scene of the show the Abbess of Ephesus (Cheri Wicks) Aegeon (Manuel Fihman) are reunited with their sons and all the mistaken identity confusion is ironed out as Adriana (Jessica Ripple, left) and Luciana (Jodie Pfau) look on.
