Gershwin in Love
Musical Revue
Hudson Shakespeare
Company

By Michelle Wilson
Directed by Michelle Wilson

For the final show on 2005, we decided to try at our hand once more into the musical theaater side (a previous HSC outing included a run of The Fantasticks) with a celebration of the amazing music of George and Ira Gershwin. Our director Michell Wilson adapted several of their numbers written from the 1920's to the 1940's into an hour long story that traced the trails and tribulations of 4 couples as they meet, fall in love, fall out of love and then come back together. Told in two acts, the first act featured the singers in traditional tie and tails numbers with such songs as "Swanee",
Nice Work If You Can Get it" & "Summertime" and the second act in everyday  outfits with songs as "The Man That Got Away", "Embraceable You", & "Someone To Watch Over Me"
